Lamp Re-vamp

Sometimes you just want a change...
Its not that it isn't nice the way it is,
It's just that you happen to have the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (R) bug
and cannot stop painting everything in sight.
But it's not a bad thing...because things look good with a coat of AS Paint!
Here's a recent re-vamp:
Lamp Base before.
{click to read on how it looks after.}

 It's not "real" wood...but a poly-resin material.

Lamp base after a coat of Old White
and Clear and Dark waxes.
The base looks more like painted, carved wood.

Again:  Lamp base before--not ugly at all...just "plasticy" looking:

But a coat of Annie Sloan, Old White, and an antiqued finish
makes for a wonderful shabby chic "new" vintage look.
What do you have that you have made new by making look old?

  3. Another beautiful (and quick) project, Aimee! My favorite kind! Do you need to prime before using the Annie Sloan paint?

    1. Thank you Laura! Nope...that is the beauty of the Annie Sloan paint line...there is no priming or prepping or sanding...you are free to just go for it!

  4. Hi Aimee,
Thanks so much for coming by for a visit and your sweet comments.
On some of the blogs that have linky sights when you put the cursor on the pic to click a big P comes up and if you click on the pic rather than the name underneath, it takes you into a pinterest acct, for you to either log in or set up an acct. Does that make sense to you now??? maybe you haven't run into that yet.

    Have a great weekend,
    blessings, Nellie
