It has begun--Wallpaper removal

It all started in the bathroom shortly after we moved into our new home.
I noticed a corner of the minty-green wallpaper was loose...
hmmm..I wonder if I just pulled that up with my fingernail...would it peel up easy?...

and thus it has begun...

Coastal Side Table- A Thrifty Make-over

What says "beachy" more than that aged turquoise blue
combined with a shabby style white wash?

I am always drawn to these summer colors and
until now I never knew how to achieve that look in furniture.
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint makes it simple.

Sunday Sentiments-Quiet Backyard Retreat

With the close of summer there suddenly feels like a rush of
frenetic energy engulfs our family.
The back-to-school schedule is at once an exciting and exhausting
change from the slower pace of summer.
I was grateful to be able to escape this past Saturday
to a wonderful women's retreat
for some time of reflection and renewal.
The hostess' property was a beautiful environment and the weather was delightful.

Lamp Re-vamp

Sometimes you just want a change...
Its not that it isn't nice the way it is,
It's just that you happen to have the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (R) bug
and cannot stop painting everything in sight.
But it's not a bad thing...because things look good with a coat of AS Paint!
Here's a recent re-vamp:

Printed Burlap Cork Message Board How-to

If you are like me, I tend to collect little bits and pieces...
...photos, postcards, business cards...
It's nice to have a nice place to put these items.
Something that says more "decor" than just an "office supply".
You can create you own stylish message board/cork board
like this one with a few supplies.

Typography is a trend that is not going away.
Basic objects become special when a number is affixed to them.
Here is a project that is as easy as 1-2-3....

Kitten-Kunundrum

Meet "Little Kitten".
He was not planned.
It was the sign's fault: "Adoptions today..."
We stopped.
And now we have a kitty-kunundrum.
Why you ask?....(click below to read on...)
