Happy Sunday!

While enjoying a quiet cup of coffee on a lovely Spring morning...I hear an unusual sound...and imagine my surprise when I look up to see this come up over the horizon!

What a treat!

Sunday Sentiments-Rainy day contentment

Things are busy around the house this weekend!

The weather literally changed overnight from 75 degrees to 40
and it feels like winter is in the air!
It is rainy and cold
but it feels cozy...
to be home with a fire...
eating turkey leftovers...
and pecan pie for breakfast...
pulling out small bits of Christmas decorations
while the hubby watches football.
Feeling grateful for a house full of family
and a husband who likes to put out Christmas lights!
{This is the earliest we have ever decorated for Christmas and it has been fun!}
"...for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am." Philippians 4:11
On days like today, this verse is not difficult to apply, and I am thankful.

Have a wonderful week - enjoy the transition into the holidays.

Sunday Sentiments-the value of quietness

Psalm 46:10

Be still...

How often in a day or week do you allow some purposeful quiet-time?
Just sitting still--no distractions...no talking...no electronics....
In today's world, the noise never stops. . .
banking, shopping, dining out,
a movie, and fueling our cars can be done at any time of day.
Add the convenience of the internet and anything can be taken care of
without ever leaving the comfort of our kitchen table.
Activity buzzes along, assaulting our senses, 24/7.

Sunday Sentinment-Re-joice

"Rejoice in the Lord
always, and again I say, Rejoice!"
Philippians 4:4
In otherwords...upcycle your joy with the Lord!
happy week!

Sunday Sentiments-Gratitude

grat·i·tude
: a feeling of appreciation or thanks
 ...gratitude and gratefulness--
this one attitude has proven to do more for our
health and happiness than any drug or therapy in existence.
learning to live with a heart of gratitude is challenging.
It is not surprising that God's word
prepares our hearts for precisely this daily challenge...
Give Thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Ephesians 5:20
Gratitude

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17

Sunday Sentiments-Quiet Backyard Retreat

With the close of summer there suddenly feels like a rush of
frenetic energy engulfs our family.
The back-to-school schedule is at once an exciting and exhausting
change from the slower pace of summer.
I was grateful to be able to escape this past Saturday
to a wonderful women's retreat
for some time of reflection and renewal.
The hostess' property was a beautiful environment and the weather was delightful.

Sunday Sentiments: In the Cool of the Garden

"The LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east.
That's where he put the man whom he had formed...
