Most Viewed Projects of 2013

As 2013 comes to a close,
and I head into my first full year of blogging,
I am amazed by the world I have encountered.
I have discovered so many beautiful and creative people out there.
I have discovered a world where sharing and supporting are the core principles.
I have been incredibly inspired by so many new ideas from others for
the house, home, family and personal life.
Blogging has been such a blessing to me and
the people I have "met" through it have inspired me more than they will ever know.

Here are some of the elementary blog "things" I am happy to say I learned in 2013:
1. to post with logoed photos!
2. to take better photos.
3. to do a tutorial.
4. how to link up to parties!
5. how to add buttons to my blog to
link to pinterests and other things.
6. how to fix my comments so I
could actually reply to those who did comment. LOL.
7. I was a guest poster to another blog!
8. I was featured...more than once...what a feeling that is!
9. My blog grew from 2 followers to 72 in nine months...
not a lot but it's something and I am so thankful for my sweet followers.
10. I actually participated in a sponsorsed blog by a vendor.
I am so excited to see what 2014 brings and what I will learn.

Here is a round up of the top 10 favorite posts of 2013--both mine and blog-land's.

This was my most "pinned" and viewed post this past year.
I had no idea the shelf life this simple post would have and still has.
This was my most featured post this past year...and one of my favorites.
I felt amazingly honored that some of my most revered blogs
featured this fun project on their blog.
I will definately start earlier in making these for next year!
I posted several home projects this past year
as we had just moved into a new home, in a new area.
Working on our Master Bath area was a first priority
and refreshing the medicine cabinets
was another one of my favorite projects as well as yours.
My blog has focused on simple tutorials.
I enjoy showing how to create accents for the home
reusing and upcycling simple items.
These placemats were a dollar-store find and
the simple typography stencil made them an easy upscaled item.
This magnet board for my daughter's room was another popular post.
I had fun making it and using Annie Sloan paint to customize it.
This post partnered with the fun glass magnets we made together for the board.
This was such a fun post.
I had seen a few in some local shops and
just had to do a "how-to" post on a great classic craft.
This post was my first "reveal" post.
It is challenging to capture a room in photos and
I have such respect for those bloggers who do it so well.
This post showed the hours spent pulling down the "before" green striped wallpaper
and doing simple changes that ended up having a lot of impact.
I still have the full reveal to show off in the New Year...
This post was a whim for me.
I didn't have a reveal, or a tutorial..
I just had this cool chair and a vision of what I hope it can be some day.
I was honestly surprised by how many comments
I received and wonderful suggestions.
Like so many other things--
this chair is still on my "to-do" list
and I will hopefully have a big reveal in 2014.
This year was the first time I tried to do a "room tour" like those that are so popular in blog-land during the holidays.  It is so fun to feel like you can peek inside someone's home and see how things look.
This and my Christmas Living Room tours were my favorites.
Finally--one of my favorites is Sunday Sentiments.
I started this post theme in August as a way to remind myself
that there is so much more to be focused on than just pretty "things"....
That the creativity we all share has it's source in our Heavenly Father--the source of creativity itself.
And it is a never-ending source.
And it never stops being amazing and humbling.
For these blessings I am thankful.

Happy New Years Blessings to you!

  4. Happy New Year, Aimee! I loved reading all you have learned about blogging and your projects are fabulous! I have decided that I need to start putting a watermark on my photos too. It is just one more step to the process but it needs to be done!

  5. Great post on looking back. I really like how you gave thanks to those people who follow and/or helped along the way. I've been seeing more and more blogs who seem to be getting (I don't want to say forgetful) too busy to visit their followers back or comment on their site when they see a post they are inspired by. You have a really big and generous heart and for that reason I am your newest follower! I look forward to seeing what 2014 holds for both of us!
