Taking it all in...Christmas Eve 2014

One of my favorite things about Christmas Eve
is that moment when a quiet stillness seems to settle in on the household,
and in my being...
a stillness of anticipation...
When family is home and just enjoying being home.
The rush of shopping and busyness is over for a moment...
and there is time to reflect by the tree...and just take it all in...
There is a readiness for celebration...
Preparation for a season...

to reflect...

on blessings...
traditions...
on Christmas' past...
and special visitors...
{where are those nutcracker elves?}
the closing of an old year...
and the hope that comes with the New Year coming...
in remembering the hope and joy
the birth of a small child can bring...
that hope...
a bright light..
in a world that can often feel heavy and dark...
Just as the hope of a cold dark winter is
the joyful buds of Spring...
So too the hope of Christmas is the
 joy of discovering renewed life...
A blessing that becomes richer with each passing year...
Wishing each of you a special moment of Christmas quietness
where you feel the blessing of even a small anticipation of hope
and excitment that is budding within this season of
renewal, light and love.
Merry Christmas!
