French terracotta-topiary love...

There is something so pretty about english ivy and terracotta.
"Two great things that go great together..."
{remember that jingle for peanutbutter cups?}

Even more amazing is an ivy topiary in terracotta.

But put that English Ivy Topiary in a French fluted terracotta pot....
and you have...
well, in my opinion....
a little slice of perfection on earth.

{sigh}
look at that patina
and that ruffly fluted edge...
So elegant and yet so simple.
I love my new centerpiece and am grateful for the
gift from my mother-n-law found during our day trip to
Sutter's Creek, at the Antique Gardener
...also a little slice of vintage heaven on earth...gorgeous store...
You can see what I found there on my last trip in this post.

  3. I spotted your topiary at The Dedicated house. I have a metal candelabra that has three candle spikes on it and I have pushed it down into a pot and grown a similar ivy around it, I bring it inside in the winter and leave it outside on my outdoor dining table in the summer. Its a great idea and I love yours, an easy way to bring the outdoors in.

  9. It does look beautiful, Aimee! I found a pot like that at an estate sale last Summer and practically ran over to grab it when I saw it. I haven't planted it for the season yet, but am thinking I may go with a geranium. Mine will be outside although I really like how your ivy topiary looks so who knows, come Fall it may wind up in the house. With a topiary form in it!
