Vintage Handmade Eggs

So often in life I have a renewed
appreciation for things
I never paid much attention to
when I was younger.

In my young mind, Easter eggs were supposed to be pastel.
That's the only way they were supposed to be celebrated.

I loved to dye Easter eggs every year.
This is what I remembered when my mom visited me last winter.

She brought with her, as she often does,
a box of "things"
to pass on to me if I want them.
This time the things were from my Nana,
{who passed 5 years ago}.
In this box was a little bag of "eggs."
I remembered we had all decorated them together.

Easter Centerpiece and Secret Garden

I spent the weekend enjoying the Spring-time weather.
And treasure hunting!  I found this wonderful cloche
and it motivated me to do some sprucing up in and out of the house.

Medallion painting--how-to

Medallions are a wonderful way to accent a chandelier
and create vertical balance in a room.
My friend has a dining room with 20ft ceilings
and bought a chandelier that was 6ft high by 4 ft wide.
HUGE!

When you want to show off a chandelier that big,
you really need to have something substantial at the
point where the fixture is hanging to create a balanced look.

A Purple Garden Haze

My favorite color as a young girl was purple.
I had to have my entire room purple.
I still love purple...especially in my outdoor rooms.
Springtime brings a wonderful purple tapestry to our yard
with Wisteria and Lavender.

National French Onion Soup Day!

Interesting Fact:
Did you know that March 8th is National French Onion Soup Day?
Yep! It is!
It's been raining a lot here lately...and what is better
on a cold and rainy day than a steaming hot bowl of soup?
