RH Acanthus Lamp "copy-cat"

Sometimes you just know how it will look...
You see the "after"
even before you buy the "before" version.
Restoration Hardware is my holy grail of accent items.
Their catalog is full of exquisite architectural finds turned decor.
One of my favorites is the Acanthus lamp (below.)

This lamp is untouchable as I do not plan
on ever spending close to $500 on a single lamp.

So.....
you can imagine how thrilled I was when
I saw this lamp piece in a consign store for $15.
It was a similar Acanthus stylized piece.
I could just "see" my RH lamp materializing.

I was even more thrilled when my husband told me
he could turn it the acanthus part
upsidedown to match the one in the catalog.
Usually I love cremes and white,
but I knew I needed a darker color
to get the finished look I was after.
I used textured spray paint.
And I love the results....

My RH knock-off has a new home on my bookcase.
Exactly how I "saw" it from the beginning. :o)
